Media Player Classic is the perfect substitute for Windows Media Player. Esthetically is identical to version 6.4 and has the same lightness in terms of ram occupation, but it has much more usefully functions (see "Features"). That's what Microsoft should have done since a long time instead focusing on skins, favorites and similar silliness.

Freeware Download Features

There are many differences, but nothing too invading for user; infact esthetically the two players are identical. Here are some:

1. With right and left keys it's possible to go forward/backward of one single frame
2. With ctrl + right/left it's possible to skip one predefinition quantity of frames
3. With ctrl + up it's possible to change faster the speed of reproduction
4. It's possible to visualize with media player QuickTime and Real Media movies (but that programs must be installed)
5. In full screen modality it's possible to show a scroll bar putting the mouse in the lower portion of the screen
6. In full screen it's possible re-dimension images and adopt a cinema format or a tv format
7. It work as a DVD player too
8. Keys are completely customizable
9. It can show subtitles
