Far Cry 2 is in the shops. Will your GPU be enough?
October 28, 2008
There's been huge hype over Far Cry 2 and now it's finally in
the shops. But will your GPU able to play it with decent graphics? Crytek has
been habits to push computer hardware to it's limits with their games featuring
awesome graphics and effect that blow your mind.
There's plenty of Far Cry 2 review all over internet, magazines
and TV shows so we keep that chapter short.
Far Cry 2 is just what you can expect to be! Fast
first person shooter with awesome graphics and worlds full of realistic sounds.
There's not really a single bad thing to say about Far Cry 2 - it's fun,
addictive and gives a lot of bang for the buck.

If you are one of those I must have it now, gamers - then
there's good news. You can actually buy this game from internet and download it
from fast servers and start exploring world of Far Cry 2. You can
download it straight from
Ubi-shop here.
But if love those fancy boxes like I do, go to Amazon
and order it there. Price is sweet too and there's versions to PS3, Xbox
360 and of course to PC. |

Ok, but back to topic will you GPU enough to play it?
First I must say that GPU with lovers power I tried this game with was Asus
GeForce 8600 Silent with 512mg memory. And surprise! You can get very fancy
graphics but it run just nicely with 1024x768 resolution and with lowest or
medium details.
But if you really want to get all off Far Cry 2, see chart
below from 3D Guru:

Original article is over here:
Far Cry 2 PC VGA Graphics performance review. Look there to see their
computer hardware used in testing and much more.
Looks like you don't need to have latest, over-priced GPU. Just
fix some setting in game and your fine to enjoy kicking ass of bad. guys.
Now, lest compare image quality - PS3 vs. PC . vs. X bo360
Windows - Far Cry 2

Playstation 3 Far Cry 2

Xbox 360 Far Cry 2

Well, everyone can make their own opinions but if I view these
images, there's no even small differences. PS3 image looks sharp though, but can
be just reason of different image (no big explosion which will shake and blurry
head character vision).
