Folding @ Home, Project MAV

FreewareKicks.com has joined to HUGE distributed computing group calling Folding @ Home. It’s scientist run program at Stanford University which will made discovering proteins, their folding and miss-folding to basically any people in the world. This is a great way to use your computer or even PS3 hardware to participate finding cures to diseases like Parkinson, Mad Cow and more.

How it works is simple.

If you have a PS3 system, you can go into Life with Playstation and Folding @ Home. There you can start instantly collect ranking points by letting your PS3 system run in this mode when you have no time to play with it. Also, if you like to participate with our team Project MAV Check the options of channel and enter there a number 171240. That’s all!

No you can view all rankings, contributions’ you have made and Team statistic straight from your PS3. This is a great application from Sony because PS3 systems has came one of the biggest processing groups in Folding @ Home – and that’s important part of work scientist do at Stanford.
